PILATES DYNAMICS ONLINE PILATES & YOGA CLASSES

We have been posting pre-recorded classes since the beginning of South Africa’s official lockdown.  We have also been working hard in the interim to get up and running with live online Pilates classes to ensure that we have an experienced eye on our clients movements, adding greater value to that of pre-recorded classes and ensuring a process as smooth as possible in order to continue with quality Pilates coaching. HOW WILL IT WORK?

Your instructor will join you via live video link (Zoom) and coach you through a tailor-made session – as usual at your own pace. The value of having an experienced eye on your movements is what sets live online Pilates classes apart from generic pre-recorded classes, since you receives instant feedback which results in improved form and greater body awareness.

 

WHAT IS NEEDED?
  • Exercise Mat (or a few towels or blankets to create support if no mat is available)

  • Internet (a stable internet connection is needed)

  • Smart Device (you can use a Smartphone, Tablet or Laptop set up in landscape position)

  • Joining the Instructor (the link will be sent to you via your email prior to your session and your instructor will then join you via video conferencing (Zoom))

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & SETUP:
  • Download Zoom Cloud Meetings to your computer or from your mobile device’s app store prior to your first session. It is free and you don’t need an account.

  • After booking your appointment at an agreed time via email (see schedule & booking contacts here) you will receive an email confirmation with a meeting link. Click on the link at the start time of your session to join the live class.

  • Ensure that you have a Pilates or exercise mat that is about 1.5 cm thick, or if you do not have a mat readily available, please ensure that you have sufficient padding/support, as many Pilates exercises involve rolling on your spine.

  • A stable internet connection is required for a good quality session. Other programs, downloads or streaming on other devices might affect your experience so you may want to turn these off during your class.

  • You can connect from a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Place your device in landscape position at about 1 to 2 metres away from you so that your instructor can see your whole body and mat from the side.

  • Choose a quiet, well-lit space so that your instructor can see you well and you can hear their cues well. You can also use wireless ear-pods if you have them to enhance your experience.

  • Wear comfortable, slim-fitting clothing so your instructor can more clearly see your alignment and easily make corrections to your movement.
