Hello there, my name is Jane and I have been getting a lot of questions about my workout routine lately. So, considering it is now Bikini season, I thought I would tell you some of my favourite things that have kept me consistent in my Pilates journey while getting ready for Bikini and Speedo season of course!
1. Getting a variety of classes
In my search for the perfect studio to suite my needs, I came across Pilates Dynamics Studio, and it has been such a great experience for me because they offer a variety of Pilates classes with different types of equipment. This is great because I get bored easily and I opt out of things, but they have kept me on my toes with different fun classes weekly and I am thoroughly enjoying myself.
2. How will Pilates help me to tone my body?
The main aim is to condition the deeper, supporting muscles of your body to improve posture, balance, and coordination. Pilates is a full body exercise regime. Equipment-based Pilates includes specific big machines that works against spring-loaded resistance, including the ‘Reformer’, which is a moveable carriage that you push and pull along its tracks.

3. What kind of Pilates exercises will help me get Bikini ready?
Surprise truly is the best element of Humour in Pilates!!! Just like so many people, I used to think that you can only get great results by using the Pilates Large Equipment like Reformers, Towers, and the Pilates Wunda Chair. Over the past few months since I joined Pilates Dynamics, I have learnt that the biggest misconception about Pilates is that Mat Pilates cannot transform your body because a mixture of both did wonders for me!
4. Can you get abs from Mat Pilates?
I am the living proof, and the answer is a strong YES!!! I toned my body and after a few sessions of me being very consistent, I started noticing the difference in my body and I decided not to stop there. I wanted the abs, and I got the abs!!
Pilates Dynamics is honestly one of the very few Pilates Studios that is fully equipped. They have a variety of equipment they use for your Mat classes in order to make sure that you fully engage and work on your core to build those ab muscles.
5. Pilates Courses Johannesburg?
Pilates Dynamics offers Internationally Recognized Certified Instructor Training Courses that are very in depth and intensive and offer an integration of anatomy, injuries and pathologies with recommendations and contra-indications, modifications and variations of exercises and exercise goals to ensure an understanding of the work.
• Mat and small equipment course (props available Ballet Barre, TRX, Bosu, Kettlebells, Weights, Balls-big and small, Thera-bands, Foam Rollers, Air Cushions, Arc Barrels, Step Barrels, Toning Bars, Rotation Discs, to name but a few).
• Intensive reformer course (Basic to Advanced levels)
The course covers the use of a big variety of smaller equipment that can be used with the Pilates Reformer. A pre-requisite for this course is the Pilates Mat and Small equipment course in 1. Above.
• Comprehensive Pilates course (inclusive of the Pilates Mat and Small equipment and Pilates Large Equipment / machines such as the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Towers, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel and Arc Barrels).
• Comprehensive Conversion course (this is ONLY the Pilates Large Equipment / Machines section covering the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Towers, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel and Arc Barrels. The course requires you to put in effort and work with your lecturers constantly.
