What is Pilates Mat classes:
Pilates Mat classes refers to Pilates exercises done on a Mat and using small equipment like
the Bosu, Free Weights, Pilates Magic Circle, Pilates Toning Bars, Kettlebells, Rebounding
(Trampolines), Thera-bands, Toning bands, Ballet Bar, TRX, Big Balls, Weighted Balls, Ankle
and Arm Weights and much more! We bring cardio into your workout as well to encourage
weight loss, without the stress on the joints.
Pilates exercises with variations and modifications are given in our classes and every
program is a full body plan. No more fumbling in the dark and not knowing whether you are
doing the right thing or not. Trying to exercise on your own will only lead to possible injury
and offers no direction for your body type. Pilates is excellent for posture, toning, flexibility,
mobility and strength, and injury prevention. That is why every major sports team practice
Pilates.
In our Pilates Mat classes you will use your body weight and we use all of the aforesaid
small equipment to intensify the workout – in a safe and beautiful environment where you
can switch off from the stresses of work and home. This is also the ideal place to meet other
people and form friendships. It does not matter how strong or weak you are, there is a work
out for everyone and any body type or fitness level. Classes are not big like they have in a
gym, but smaller to ensure personal attention.
What is Pilates Reformer Classes:
Reformer Pilates Classes refers to working on a Pilates Reformer machine. This machine
works with spring tension. Over and above the spring tension, you also train with a variety of
small Pilates Equipment like Pilates Magic Circles, Free Weights, Pilates Weighted Balls and
Poles, and different size balls. The possibilities are endless as there are literally thousands
of different types of exercises. Again the Pilates Instructor will ensure that you get a full
body workout. Workouts can be adjusted for different body types and can be adapted to
make it very intense for a more athletic type of workout or adapted for weaker people.
How does a Private Pilates Studio differ from doing Pilates in a gym:
There is a HUGE difference between doing Pilates in a gym versus doing Pilates in a private
Pilates studio. The biggest difference is that classes in Pilates Private Studio are smaller, for
individual attention, whereas the classes at a gym is very big and there cannot be individual
attention as a result. Another difference is that the Pilates Instructor at the gym cannot fix
postures, due to the big numbers in the classes and at a Private Pilates Studio, your
instructor does not exercise with you, but instead they walk around and fix your body if you
are in the wrong position. Another difference is that variations in a Pilates Private Studio is
offered for the weaker or stronger person, whereas it is impossible to do that in big numbers
at a gym.
These are excellent reasons to join a Pilates Private Studio! Pilates done the correct way,
will tone your body, encourage weight loss, and strengthen your body from the inside out.
